GIỚI THIỆU SPEAKER / LECTURER!

THOMAS C. FOX – người Mỹ, 71 tuổi, tác giả của Pentecost in Asia (Lễ Hiện Xuống ở Á Châu) mà tôi đã dịch và xuất bản mới đây (NXB. Phuong Dong, 2015; via. Nhà Sách Đức Bà Hòa Bình) – muốn dành thời gian để đóng góp một cái gì đó cho Giáo hội tại Việt Nam kể từ năm tới, khi ông nghỉ hưu và rút khỏi công việc toàn thời gian của mình ở National Catholic Reporter (NCR) và ở Global Sisters Report.

Ông có thể GIẢNG DẠY HAY NÓI CHUYỆN về một số LÃNH VỰC SỞ TRƯỜNG như:

– dạy tiếng Anh; tiếng Anh truyền thông (viết tin, bài bằng tiếng Anh);

– thần học và linh đạo Công giáo tây phương; linh đạo hiện đại;

– các vấn đề mục vụ …

Như vậy, ông có thể phù hợp để được mời làm speaker / lecturer cho các khóa huấn luyện hay thường huấn tại các trung tâm mục vụ giáo phận, các học viện dòng tu hay liên dòng, NHẤT LÀ CÁC DÒNG NỮ, hay các đại chủng viện, tiểu chủng viện… Ông có thể nhận nói chuyện chuyên đề tại Saigon và những nơi khác ở Việt Nam.

“As you know, I have been editor or publisher at the National Catholic Reporter for 36 years. I am now 71 years old and will soon retire from my full time job at NCR. 

 NCR and Catholic journalism have always been one of my loves. My other love is Vietnam. As you might know, my wife is a Catholic social worker from Can Tho, a former student at Caritas in Saigon and Le Couvent des Oiseaux in Dalat.

 While I am publisher of the NCR, I am also director of Global Sisters Report. This is a website that reports on Catholic Sisters and helps them build their writing and communication skills. 

 The women religious all over the world do good work, but often have few education channels to build their skills. That is a reason I want to teach Catholic women religious, but not exclusively so. 

 I feel I am in good position to teach English writing, communication, and Western Catholic spirituality and theology. I know these subjects very well. I also know personally the people who write in these fields, such as Richard Rohr and Joan Chittister and Elizabeth Johnson. 

 In the next year or two I want to help build the church in Vietnam. I want to use my talents. I speak some Vietnamese and have lived in Vietnam for five years. My wife and I go back to Vietnam often. We understand the situation in Vietnam.” 

 Yes, I could teach courses or lecture in different parts of Vietnam, if the local churches felt I was valuable.”
